How are you?
The typical response is, 'I'm fine thanks'. But what about when things are not good, or fine? Can we honestly say,
God, You are good, even in this?
I was having a conversation with a friend and when I asked how she was, she gave the typical customary response, and so did I. But as we started to really fill each other in with life, it was clear that was some parts which were not fine. It was not good, at all to be honest.

I am a big advocate of speaking life and truth and using the Word to do that, but I am also a big advocate on admitting the truth, and stating how I feel. It's what I do with those feelings and thoughts, that really testify to what I believe in. But I digress. It was really encouraging that my friend and I could both evidently see the good that God was doing despite having to deal with some disappointing lows.
As of late, I have been seeing life, like a sound mixer desk. There are going to be parts of your life that are in equilibrium. You have managed to get a good balance and dancing in rhythm. However, there are going to parts of your life simultaneously, (definitely for me anyway), which are slightly out of sync. You can't seem to move the same beat in time, let alone enjoy the song it's playing. And sometimes, there is NO sound. It's just quiet and nothing seems to be working. For example, work is amazing, but at home things are mess. Finances are popping but there are challenges in your significant relationships. But, I ask you, "even in this, is He good?"
I think this is where I find myself, accepting that just because everything isn't good, doesn't mean life isn't good. Just because I don't have...... (insert blank, best fitting here), or because I am not where I thought would be, doesn't mean I am in a bad place.
God is looking for a people who will praise Him even when the very things you desire are not evident. I am praying for every and anyone who seems like their 'Sound Mixer of Life' is down or completely off balance. I am praying that,
"in the midst of the imbalance, that you will see the good in your life and you will know in the depths of your heart that, 'God is good, even this'."
Even though the fig trees are all destroyed, and there is neither blossom left nor fruit; though the olive crops all fail, and the fields lie barren; even if the flocks die in the fields and the cattle barns are empty, 18Â yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will be happy in the God of my salvation. 19Â The Lord God is my strength; he will give me the speed of a deer and bring me safely over the mountains - Habakkuk 3:17-19 TLB
Can we get an Amen?
